The token maths, done properly

This is the part that decides whether DarLink AI is cheap or expensive for you, and it has nothing to do with the subscription price. Images and videos are paid in tokens. An image costs 2 tokens. A video costs 20.

Your plan includes a monthly coin allowance. Essential gives 100 coins. Spend them on images and you get fifty. Spend them on video and you get five. Whichever you choose, the allowance is gone in an afternoon if you are generating seriously, and then you are buying packs.

Read the third column before the fourth. The 350-token pack costs $0.0999 per token. The 100-token pack costs $0.0999 per token. They are identical. The page displays a struck-through $43.74 next to the $34.99 to produce the 20 % figure, but $43.74 is not a price that exists anywhere else on the site.

The same method produces the other badges. The real saving tops out at 20 %, and you only reach it by spending $299.99 in one go. There is nothing illegal about anchoring a discount to a reference price, and plenty of retailers do it. It is still worth knowing before you decide which pack to buy.

Practical translation: at the cheapest pack rate, one image costs about 20 cents and one video costs about $2.00. Budget from those two numbers, not from the monthly subscription.

Feature by feature, plan by plan

The plan page lists features as emoji bullets, which makes them hard to compare. Here they are side by side.

Two things stand out. Adult content is identical across all three tiers, so paying more does not unlock more permissive content: a point the marketing leaves ambiguous. And the token cost of media is the same on every plan, so the higher tiers buy you allowance, not a better rate.

Five more things on the pricing page that do not line up

1. The large per-day price stays frozen at $0.43, $0.93 and $1.67 whichever billing cycle you select, while the monthly figure underneath it changes. On the yearly plan, Essential is $9.99 a month, which is $0.33 a day, not $0.43.
2. The yearly tab is labelled SAVE 44 %. No plan reaches it: Essential saves 23 %, Advanced 32 %, Ultimate 34 %.
3. The Advanced plan carries a −32 % badge on the monthly tab, where there is nothing to discount from.
4. A countdown reads Offer ends in roughly ten hours. It resets on every visit.
5. The sidebar entry named Subscription leads to a 404. The working page is at /plan-selection.

None of this makes the product bad. It does mean you should read the plan page slowly, and ignore every badge on it.

Chat quality and memory

Memory is the feature the plans are really built around, and it is tiered. Basic memory, on Essential, holds context inside a session. Enhanced memory, on Advanced, carries your preferences from one session to the next. Living memory, on Ultimate, is described as persistent and evolving, and it is the only tier aimed at a long-running relationship with the same character.

That tiering is honest about what it sells. If you intend to talk to one character over months, the entry plan will frustrate you, because she will not reliably remember what you told her last week. If you dip in occasionally, basic memory is enough and the cheaper plan is the right buy.

Message allowances are generous rather than tight. Six thousand messages a month on Essential is about two hundred a day. Only Ultimate removes the ceiling entirely.

Images, video and voice

Image generation is the feature most people use, and at 2 tokens it is the cheapest media on the platform. Video is the headline feature and the expensive one: five to ten seconds for 20 tokens, which is ten images' worth of budget for a clip shorter than a ringtone.

Voice is included in the subscription rather than charged per message, which is unusual in this category and genuinely good value. The number of voices, not the number of messages, is what your plan controls.

What you can see without paying
